How does the author use foreshadowing in Storm Thief?

In Part II, Revenants, the mystery deepens around the golem as we learn that his is immune to the touch of the energy ghost (the Revenant), and that his very form can dissipate them. Through these hints and clues we can see the author foreshadowing the later revelations that the golem was in fact made as a soldier who could possibly kill the energy ghosts entirely.
