The point of view of Storm Front by Jim Butcher is first person, with periodic second person asides to the reader as: "Please, do you think wizards just give information like that away? You don't know what I went through to get it." Pg. 68, Ch. 6. Because the story is in today's era and time, everything is told in a humorous manner giving the reader the understanding that comedy is Harry Dresden's main way of handling things, especially stress. When Harry views the dead and mutilated bodies, his first response is a joke, but deeper down inside himself, he's screaming at the horror of the scene and takes advantage of the bucket outside the room when he vomits in reaction. Even when Harry meets with the Chicago crime syndicate's leader, Johnny Marcone, he responds to this stressful situation with sardonic humor as well.
