What is Athene's Temple?

Athene's temple is symbolic of the sacred. Therefore, when Athene discovers that Poseidon raped Medusa in her temple, she becomes desperate for revenge. Poseidon has not only violated Medusa, but dishonored Athene. He has thus disrespected and defiled what is sacred to both of these female characters.
