The author organizes the novel into five numbered and titled sections. These sections appear in the following order: Part One, “Sister,” Part Two, “Mother,” Part Three, “Blind,” Part Four, “Love,” and finally, Part Five, “Stone.” Each of the five sections is then divided into a series of unnumbered and titled chapters. The chapter titles are inspired by the point of view that the author will trace in the enclosed pages. This means that a chapter titled with the Gorgoneion’s name will present the Gorgoneion’s perspective and depict her experiences. In turn, a chapter titled with Athene’s, Medusa’s, Danaë’s, Andromeda’s, or Cassiope’s name, will present each of these characters’ vantage points and scenes from their particular narrative realms.
