What is the author's style in Spin by Robert Charles Wilson?

Spin is a science-fiction novel written as a story within a story. It uses the first person point of view. The bulk of the novel is an embedded journal written by a character named Tyler Dupree. Since the journal entries are mainly flashbacks, both stories tie up in the end, as they are joined together by the timeline. The novel starts in the very near future and ends a little over thirty years later, after the end of the first Spin era.
