What are Everyday Objects?

Everyday objects such as a blow dryer, an iron, a cell phone, are the symbols of Martha's rage. They are caught in the violence of her personal tornadoes, becoming lethal projectiles destined for those she loves most. She throws a blow dryer at Patrick and physically hurts him despite the fact that he is kind and understanding towards her. After disappointing feedback from her editor, she even drives an iron into the wall near her computer, over and over again.
