Dublin is where Victor finds his greatest success as a young writer. There, he writes reviews of some of Ireland's greatest musicians and bands, and ruins a few careers. There, he also meets Rachel and it is where he spends most of his life with her. Dublin is where he is successful, and back in his hometown, he settles into his own perception of himself as a failure.
