Fulvia and her husband live a very lavish lifestyle, with expensive cars, a large, richly-decorated home, and pricey wardrobes. She believes, though, that "bourgeois capitalism" will eventually collapse on its own, and nothing she does or doesn't do can accelerate or stall the process, so she may as well enjoy her wealth while she can. She also adds that she and her husband know how to be rich with dignity but not poor with dignity, which is not easily learned, and that by having money they can economically assist those taking more radical action.
