Legos are a very important item in Simon’s family because they act as common ground to talk their problems over. For Simon, it gives him something to focus on even in the silence so that he does not think too much about the past. For his parents, the Legos give them another way to connect with him, even during the difficult moments. As they build with Legos, they are rebuilding their family and healing all together.
