What is Tamsin’s Apartment?

While Tamsin thinks that her apartment in Boston represents stability, it is actually proof of the emptiness in her and Cabell’s life. She does not understand this until she returns without her brother. For the first time, Tamsin realizes that the apartment was actually trapping them. It stopped Cabell from finding peace in his life and with himself. For Tamsin, the false comfort of the apartment kept her from confronting her suffering and moving on with her life. Once Tamsin acknowledges this, she is able to focus on the people she brings back into her home rather than the memories she once clung to.
