Who is Randi from Shadow of the Giant and what is their importance?

Randy is introduced at the start of the story when she is impregnated with a baby under secret circumstances. She believes the child belongs to Achilles, who was killed by Bean. She leaves her husband and goes into hiding and is not seen until the end of the story. Her baby is born two months early, and is in fact the last of Bean and Petra's stolen embryos—the one they never find. As a twist of fate, she plans to leave earth and become part of one of the colonies. Other than that, her future is unknown.
