Why do Eva and Troy separate in the novel, Seven Days in June?

Initially, Eva hide her depression from Troy and is successful in doing so. After their marriage, however, Eva finds herself unable to hide her true self and disability. Before long, Troy goes tired of Eva's physical weakness and expresses his frustrations, Eva, inrepsonse, realizes she has to leave him, and they separate.
