Importance of Amy’s Investigation?

Amy’s investigation symbolizes the potentially misleading nature of suspicion and denial. As Amy investigates Sylvie’s disappearance, she becomes convinced that threats or foul play must have been involved in causing Sylvie’s disappearance.
