Significance of the farm

As a child, the narrator grew up on a farm near the Syrian city of Homs. The narrator had a happy and peaceful life there, and the landscape was quite beautiful. He lived with his brothers and parents in a farmhouse. As an adult, the narrator once visited the area around the farm with his wife and son. The visit was before the war, and the narrator’s son was unfortunately too young to retain a memory of the visit.
