Harrison Darnell is the owner of the Lady Jane, the yacht where the Florence Horvath tape was shot. Darnell lives a decadent and immoral lifestyle in which Florence Horvath was a willing participant for a time and which, among other things, involves videotaping his guests' activities both with and without their knowledge. Darnell is Jesse's prime suspect in the Horvath murder case for most of the novel and although the murder was actually committed by Mr. Plum, he is arrested for statutory rape after having sex with 15-year-old Katie DeWolfe.
