What is Yoshitsune's Bow?

Yoshitsune’s bow symbolizes honor. When the bow is knocked from Yoshitsune’s hands during a fight, Yoshitsune risks his life in order to retrieve the bow. This is done so that the Taira soldiers will not be able to boast of having a weapon that belonged to Yoshitsune. This preserves Yoshitsune’s honor in having never surrendered a weapon to the enemy. It underscores the importance that honor played in reputation and personhood among the samurai.
