Who is Meg Saxton from Salem Falls and what is their importance?

Meg Saxton is the daughter of police officer Charlie Saxton and friends with Gillian Duncan, Whitney O'Neill, and Chelsea Abrams. She is involved in Wicca with her friends. She is present at their celebration for Beltane where Gillian claims to be raped by Jack St. Bride. Meg goes back to the site of the celebration to hide evidence that the girls were doing witchcraft, including a thermos of Gillian's that contains traces of atropine, a hallucinogenic substance. Her father, Charlie, finds the thermos and turns it over for evidence, allowing Jack's lawyer to prove the girls were hallucinating that night. Meg tries to claim Jack touched her as well, but after Jack is acquitted, she admits to her father that Jack didn't come on to her.
