Danuta Danielsson is depicted by Anderson as a woman whose mother had survived a Nazi concentration camp. So when neo-Nazis had marched through her town in Sweden, she had “snapped” (214). Anderson states that Danuta Danielsson had felt that she had “reached her breaking point” (214) and so she had hauled off and hit a neo-Nazi across the face with her handbag.
