John Parker was Cynthia Ann's six-year-old brother. The two were taken captive together, but John Parker ended up in a different Indian band. He is named Bear Cub, and he is considered the grandson of Old Owl. After seven years, John was ransomed from the tribe and returned to his family, where he suffered at the hands of Elder James Parker who believed he could beat civilization back into the boy. John eventually escaped and returned to live with the Comanche. He later moved to Mexico.
