Who is I.K. Broverman from Reviving Ophelia and what is their importance?

I.K. Broverman is a psychologist. Broverman conducts what is now a classic experiment in which men and woman are asked to categorize the characteristics of healthy adults, healthy men, and healthy women. The results show that the participants believe that healthy men and healthy adults have the same qualities; active, independent, and logical. In contrast, healthy women are described as passive, dependent, and illogical. In fact, it is impossible to score as both a healthy woman and a healthy adult in Broverman's experiment.
