Chase is treated differently that Aaron and Bear because of his amnesia. Chase's amnesia leaves him a far different boy than the bully he was before his accident. Aaron and Bear, however, continue to exhibit their bullying ways and disrespectful attitudes. As a result, Chase is treated kindly, and the other two boys are often treated with impatience.
Aaron and Bear are annoyed by this because this because they don't understand why Chase is receiving this type of treatment when his previous behavior was no different than their own.
