Steve Lopez is the marksman and computer expert with the S.T.A.R.S. Exeter branch. He is twenty-two years old and naturally tan with black hair and dark, quick eyes. He goes on the Caliban Cove mission. Steve and Rebecca begin to flirt while at Caliban Cove, but both decide to wait to explore their mutual attraction until they are in a safer place. After Dr. Kinneson takes Steve and Karen hostage, Dr. Griffith injects Steve with his mutated version of the T-Virus, making Steve his slave. He then orders Steve to shoot John, trap Rebecca and David in the airlock, and then shoot himself.
