What happens when Mare tries to pick one last pocket in Chapter 5?

As Mare tries to pick one last pocket, the man who is her target grabs her wrist. Even though he realizes she is a thief, he gives her a silver coin. When Mare tells him her story, he gives her another coin and walks her to the edge of her village.
