Significance of Kimonos

The matching kimonos that Pez purchases for the entire group symbolize the new friendships and relationships Alex has access to through his romance with Henry. The matching kimonos are for the White House Trio, along with Pez, Henry, and Bea. The group wear the kimonos and bond with one another in a way that they cannot with other people, leading Alex to remark that, for the first time in his life, he has friends beyond June and Nora.
