Comment on theme?

A central part of the novel is the struggle with identity that a number of characters have, particularly Alex and Henry. However, their struggles are unique in a way to them, with Alex gradually coming to terms with being bisexual while Henry struggles to affirm his own homosexuality. It seems from the beginning that the odds are stacked against the couple, as they try to navigate the intensity of the media's attention while also facing the expectations that accompany their respective stations in life.
