The main character is Raymond's Run is Squeaky, an African American girl living in Harlem with her two brothers. She has an older brother and a younger brother. Her younger brother, Raymond, has Downs Syndrome. It is Squeaky's job to look after him. She is very responsible toward her brother, as well as very protective.
