Dana Seagram is the wife of Gene Seagram. She has a PhD in archaeology and works for Admiral Sandecker at the Maritime Museum. She is watching her marriage fail due to the professional obligations that both she and her husband face. She wants them both to quit their jobs and return to teaching. She handles the NUMA press operations when the salvage operations begin and is at the salvage site with a group of press correspondents when the Titanic is raised. Dana is found injured and unconscious in the sabotaged helicopter on the Titanic. She makes the decision to divorce Gene which contributes to his mental collapse.
