Who is Jason Carillo?

Jason Carillo is a star athlete who has always suspected that there was something different about him, but he did not accept that he was gay until his senior year of high school. Jason has had a long term girlfriend with whom he has been intimate and has had friends who are homophobic, making Jason not only afraid to face the truth about his sexuality, but also confused because of his desire to be with a girl. At the same time, Jason's alcoholic father has made things difficult for Jason by trying to beat the homosexual tendencies out of him. This adds to Jason's confusion, making it difficult for him to face the truth about himself. Despite all this, Jason finally accepts that he is gay. However, when he comes out to his basketball team and coach, Jason loses his scholarship to college, but also becomes a brief media star.
