Who is Esau?

Esau is an eight year old boy whom the trio camp beside in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Esau is clearly effeminate and this is also clearly a sore spot for Esau's father. Watching Esau and his father brings back dark memories for both Jason and Nelson. Therefore it is not a surprise when Nelson and Jason get into an argument with Esau's father the following morning. This incident highlights some of the difficulties some gay children must deal with as they age and the right and wrong way to deal with such difficulties as an adult.
