Importance of Nelson Glassman

Nelson has been Kyle's best friend for many years. Nelson has helped Kyle accept himself and his homosexuality, while Kyle has helped Nelson through the ups and downs of adolescence, as well as relationship highs and lows and Nelson's difficult relationship with his father. For this reason, Kyle and Nelson are extremely close. Therefore, when Nelson suggests the road trip, Kyle is all for it until he realizes that Nelson and Jason will be stuck in a car together. Nelson and Jason are as different as two people can be and Nelson often gets on Jason's nerves with his flamboyant and odd behaviors. Kyle is surprised when the two actually get along quite well.
