Why does Katie, Cameron's girlfriend, kick him out of her apartment?

Katie comes early for a dentist's apartment and finds Cameron there in the middle of the day. He tries to tell her he is off because it is a holiday. She realizes that she is out of work again. She is furious that he is lying to her and because he cannot keep a job. She starts throwing his belongings outside and tells him to leave.
