Why does Sibyl keep asking Elyot about Amanda?

Sibyl is very insecure in her marriage to Elyot. She needs to be reassured that she is a better person than Amanda and, more specifically, a better wife. Sibyl only stops asking about Amanda when Elyot finally says the negative things about his first wife that his new wife needs to hear.
