What are some of the things that initially attracted Amanda to Victor?

Victor paid Amanda a great deal of attention at a time when she was feeling old and unwanted. He loved her when she needed to be loved and wanted nothing more than to protect and look out for her. Even though Victor is not right for her, Amanda did find him charming and she probably convinced herself that she loved him enough for marriage.
