Who is Kay Campbell and Sarah Maulsby from Portnoy's Complaint and what is their importance?

Kay and Sarah are two shikses (see above) whom Alex dated while in university. Kay is portrayed as being earthy and practical, while Sarah is portrayed as being sophisticated and superficial. Through contemplation of his relationships with both women, Alex comes to at least a degree of understanding of why his sexual attitudes are what they are.
