What is the author's style in Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult?

The setting is very much a stylistic element of the novel. The setting of this novel is rural Pennsylvania. However, it is not the physical setting of farm country in Pennsylvania that is the most important aspect of the setting, but the fact that the main setting of the novel is an Amish farm in the middle of rural Pennsylvania.
