Slim meets Chris when he sees her in the hotel suite he lives in with Runt. She is married to man named Leroy and used to be a former prostitute. Slim talks her into meeting him in his room. Leroy is a very jealous man and discovers her dalliance, becoming enraged. He moves her to another city with his band to get her away from Slim. Slim finds her again when he comes across Leroy shooting an old white man who owns the club he is playing in. Leroy will go to jail and Chris agrees to become Slim's whore again. She eventually becomes his most trustworthy confidant and protects him when he is on the run from the F.B.I. When Slim goes to jail, she finds a husband and has a child.
