Who is Ophelia from Picture Perfect and what is their importance?

Ophelia (Olivera Frug) is Cassie's former college roommate. She is described as a hard-driving career woman, who has been a hand-model and acted in small roles. Ophelia is struggling to gain recognition in Hollywood, and she is continually in therapy. She does not like Alex, and she doesn't think he is the right mate for Cassie. She, none-the-less, has no problem using him for her own press coverage. Ophelia enjoys wearing Cassie's beautiful clothes, which Cassie willingly shares, and although she makes herself at home with Cassie, she is never comfortable around Alex.

Ophelia proves herself to be turns out to b a good friend. She shows up and tries to help Alex get himself together when Cassie disappears, and in the end, she is the one who supports and helps Cassie make her break from Alex. Ophelia was a sexually abused child, and in adulthood might seem a bit sleazy, but she is a good person.
