What changes did Nyle went through?

Over the course of the novel, Nyle struggles with abandonment and the anger that accompanies it. People leaver her, and she cannot figure out why. She's also unable to establish connections and make friends because she's afraid that they too will leave. When Nyle meets Ezra (he moves into Gran's with his mother), she has a difficult time opening up to him, but their friendship will be responsible for changing her life. The close they become.... the more she heals.
