Who is Zelis from Persian Letters. Translated with an Introd. and Notes, by C. J. Betts and what is their importance?

Zelis is one of Usbek's wives. She is believed to be the main troublemaker in the seraglio. The head eunuch reports that Zelis allowed her veil to fall from her face as she made her way to the mosque, and that a mysterious letter discovered in the seraglio was meant for her. The more Zelis is watched, the furhter she distances herself from her husband. In the end, Zelis tells her husband that his tyrannical and cruel behavior has destroyed her love for him.
