Emmy's Hair

Emmy's hair was long when she chose to leave Thistle Grove, and she saw it as a symbol of being a witch. She felt that since her powers could not be strong, her hair could at least look the part. As part of her decision to never return to Thistle Grove, Emmy cut her hair short. She carefully maintains that as a symbol of abandoning her background as a witch.
