Who is Nora Volkova from Pattern Recognition and what is their importance?

Nora creates the footage. She and Stella are twins, and while they grew up in Paris, Nora studied film. The radio activated Claymore bomb that killed her parents on the way to their grandmother's funeral injured her to an almost fatal degree. Her parents were killed instantly. Nora, however, survived and suffered through a long and impossible rehabilitation beginning with her first transfusion in Russia which had no ill effects to their great relief. In the beginning, after the explosion, Nora could not talk, and she had no recognition of anyone..... including her twin sister. When she finally did begin to speak, it was in the language that the twins enjoyed exclusively as children. Slowly, her other language skills returned, as did her interest in film.
