What does Patina notice when she sees Momly in the hospital in Chapter 12?

Patina sees Momly, and the first thing that she notices is Momly's face. It is puffed up and purple. There are bruises and lumps and knots. Her arm is swollen to the shoulder. The bottom of her arm is in a sling to keep it from moving, but Patina can still see that the bone in Momly's arm is sticking out.
