On pg. 33, Paddy says a line that foreshadows the rests of the actions in the book. He says, "Sometimes when nothing happened it was really getting ready to happen." This narrative can be applied to his ma's and da's fights or silent fights. It can also be applied to the changing relationship between Paddy and Sinbad, or Paddy and Kevin.
