Other Birds
What does Charlotte give her new friends in the novel, Other Birds?
.
.
Charlotte gifts her new friends with small baubles from her childhood. The witch balls, which are fragile, glass-spun objects serve as a symbol of Charlotte’s fumbling love for her newfound friends. Each time Charlotte forges a new relationship with someone, she gifts them a witch ball, a relic from her childhood and one of the few positive memories she seems to have of her mother before she was indoctrinated into The Church of McCauley.
