In Act II, Iagolies to Roderigoabout Desdemona and Cassio. He convinces Roderigo that Desdemona is cheating on Othello with Cassio. Getting Cassio in trouble would clear the way for Roderigo to pursue Desdemona. Rederigo says he is no longer going to kill himself: he believes Iago's plan will work.
