Chores symbolize fear, anxiety, and the restrictiveness of domestic life. The woman appears to spend most of her time engaged in daily chores and necessities of homemaking and raising children. She simply accepts the stress of this work as an essential part of life. However, her newfound fascination with insects awakens her to a new type of fulfillment, and she begins to fantasize about leaving her life as a housewife.
