Who is Bruce McElroy

Bruce McElroy is Belle's husband, and father to the three kids that they raise together. Even though Belle makes so much money that Bruce does not even have to work, Bruce is an incredibly selfish and unsupportive partner towards Belle. In addition to perennially falling short on his share of parental responsibilities, Bruce is a frequently unavailable romantic partner. At one point, nursing a grudge, Bruce hangs up on Belle even though she has just discovered that one of her investments has earned the family $3 million (101). Bruce also effectively withdraws his support of Belle's advocacy in the workplace when the sexist executive B. Gruss II does not listen to Belle's legitimate complaints in a meeting, even though Belle acted bravely and nobly in the situation (206).
