Simon Greene is Belle's older boss who, unlike Tim Boylan of Cheetah, appears to be constantly unimpressed with Belle's work, despite her obvious skill at her job. During the same meeting in which Belle rightfully expects to learn from Greene that she is receiving a large bonus, Greene instead has arranged for Belle to be partners with Stone Dennis, a particularly useless employee (152-159). Even though Belle quickly constructs a compelling argument that the partner arrangement is a bad idea, Greene stubbornly insists on it, even though it does not make any sort of obvious positive business sense.
