What is the theme in One Man's Meat by E. B. White?

A sense of community is another theme in the book. One of the things that is evident in White's experience in Maine is the sense of community and neighborliness exhibited by the people in the rural area where the Whites live. With the exception of the people residing in the village, the people in the area are in remote areas and do not see each other regularly.
