Ken Kessey is trying to show that not everyone in society that is seen as "crazy" , truly is. He believes that government is very involved in the people's lives and just want to control them based on their view of a perfect society. Most of the decisions that authorities make however, are very corrupt and Kessey shows this through his charector Big Nurse and show she manipulates the inmates into following her orders. In Kesey's opinion a hero is someone who is brave enough to stand up to authorities when others are afraid. This is Mc. Murphy's role in the book> thats why he brings about change and a questioning attitude when he enters the ward. Most people need a hero to look up to and follow their lead because they are afraid to step up sometimes, and by keeping silent a person can loose their inner confidence and sense of hapiness. Good Luck !
